“I want to be the friend you fall hopelessly in love with. The one you take into your arms and into your bed and into the private world you keep trapped in your head. I want to be that kind of friend.”

"We are synonyms but not the same.
Synonyms know each other like old colleagues, like a set of friends who’ve seen the world together. They swap stories, reminisce about their origins and forget that though they are similar, they are entirely different, and though they share a certain set of attributes, one can never be the other. Because a quiet night is not the same as a silent one, a firm man is not the same as a steady one, and a bright light is not the same as a brilliant one because the way they wedge themselves into a sentence changes everything.
They are not the same."

Hell is empty, and all the devils are here - Act.1 Scene 2. Line 213-214. The Tempest, Shakespeare
Couldn’t resist after reading Unravel Me, had to look it up. (Interestingly enough, the line itself is said by Ferdinand, son of the king, who falls - guess what - obsessively in love with Miranda. Not sure if Tahereh Mafi intended the parallels, but they are SO there).

"Sometimes I wonder about glue.
No one ever stops to ask glue how it’s holding up. If it’s tired of sticking things together or worried about falling apart or wondering how it will pay its bills next week.
Kenji is kind of like that.
He’s like glue. He works behind the scenes to keep things together and I’ve never stopped to think what his story might be. Why he hides behind the jokes and the snark and the snide remarks."

warnerignitesme:

what if Tahereh Mafi would publish that one journal Juliette has. wouldn’t it be amazing. the fact that nothing is in order and things are just written randomly where place is and numbers are random and text is random and everything is random no that would be amazing.

it could be called “Juliette’s Journal”. or “Read me”

like

Shatter me

Destroy me

Unravel me

[untitled] me

Ignite [untitled] me

Read me
